The ICR were looking to introduce patient information videos into their clinical trials and as a starting off point commission a series of short animations to explain the trial entry process and certain key aspects of the trial which they have found to be challenging for patients.
Our team recommended, after looking at the projects required key messaging, that a set of 3 x 2 – 3 minute animations structured in a FAQ format would be perfect to reach their KPIs.
We felt that featuring several characters, who were diverse in age and ethnicity was integral to content accessibility and using a warm and pragmatic voice over narrator to guide the animation would help with the target audience engagement.
This project used our tried and tested animation process which includes, scripting the videos, creating mood boards to develop an overall look and style that incorporated the clients brand guidelines, storyboarding which is pretty much a comic book version of what will be the final video, animating, voiceover casting and recording, sound design and finally subtitling.
As the client is in the healthcare sector the feedback rounds were a little longer as there were many levels of stakeholders that required approval at each stage of the project. However, we have worked with many clients in the healthcare sector across the lifespan of the company so we are well versed in this and were more than happy to extend the typical timeframe of a project of this scope!
We are currently working with the client again to create more patient information animations for another clinical trial.
